Theme: Land Rights
Currently MDLA programmes focus on civic education on land rights, access procedures, research and documentation of best practices and case studies to support robust district and national level lobby and advocacy initiatives
MDLA has realised that the immense problems that are being faced in customary land tenure stems from lack of information and/or sharing and mechanisms to create understanding and knowledge around procedures and guidelines for fair land administration. The strategy of this project is, therefore, to focus on the awareness creation and information sharing with the affected target group. Thus, the beneficiaries will be empowered more, to actively participate in decision- making process. Further, this will enable to demand accountability on the part of duty bearers. This will also augment the strategy to focus on conflict resolution on customary land through paralegal service be that will be offered to the target group.
